President’s Message
Dear ILSS²»Á¼Ñо¿ËùMembers,
I hope this message finds you well.
Our ILSS²»Á¼Ñо¿ËùFall BOD meeting is scheduled for September 28, 1 p.m. at Cooper's Hawk 798 W Algonquin Road Arlington Heights, IL 60005. The Spring CE and Business Meeting will be held on April 11, 2025. If you're interested in speaking or volunteering for the Spring CE, please contact me at illssamt@gmail.com.
I want to share highlights from the 2024 ²»Á¼Ñо¿ËùAnnual Meeting in St. Louis, Missouri. Illinois sent five delegates, and the week was filled with valuable experiences and growth opportunities. As both a delegate and ILSS²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëùpresident, it was rewarding to attend alongside several ILSS²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëùboard members. The events were exceptionally well organized.
The CE sessions offered deep insights and were highly beneficial. I had the privilege of moderating two sessions, which enhanced the learning experience for attendees. The keynote address by Cedrick LaFleur was particularly impactful and has significantly shaped my professional perspective.
The Great Lakes District Meeting was a highlight, fostering collaboration and idea exchange among state societies. We also confirmed the 2025 Great Lakes District Conference, scheduled for September 11-13 in Frankenmuth, Michigan.
Attending the ²»Á¼Ñо¿ËùScientific Speaker and ²»Á¼Ñо¿ËùStudent Activities Committees in person was a meaningful experience, contributing to this year’s activities.
The Annual Business Meeting included discussions on AMT's future and the election of new BOD members. ILSS²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëùwas proud to have two Distinguished Achievement Award winners this year: our treasurer, Waheeda Khan, and myself, Shaista Saiyed.
Beyond the formal aspects, reconnecting with colleagues and building new relationships was invaluable. This experience has broadened my knowledge and reinforced my commitment to our field. I encourage you to consider attending the 2025 ²»Á¼Ñо¿ËùAnnual Meeting, which will be held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, from July 21-25.
Please make use of the community webpage for access to the library, posts, pictures, delegate reports, and other relevant content. Active participation offers leadership and networking opportunities. Your involvement is crucial to having a voice within our organization. Feel free to reach out to me or any board members for more information.
Sincerely,
Shaista Saiyed
  ILSS²»Á¼Ñо¿ËùPresident
